Abstract
Background: Rigler’s triad consists of three findings seen in patients with gall stone illeus which are pneumobilia, small bowel obstruction and ectopic calcified gallstone usually in right iliac fossa. Gallstone ileus (GSI) occurs due to cholecystoduodenal fistula through which gall stone reach the gastrointestinal tract. Case Report: Here in, we report a case of small intestinal obstruction owing to gall stone in ileum in a 60 yr old female who successfully recovered after surgery. Conclusion: Disproportionate symptoms and signs of small bowel obstruction in a patient with gall stone disease should alert the surgeon to suspect GSI.
