Abstract
Penile Mondor’s disease occurs due to thrombosis of the superficial dorsal vein of the penis. 37 year old male presented with sudden onset of swelling and pain in the penis since last 4 days. Examination revealed a tender cord like swelling on the dorsal aspect of the penis. Clinical findings were confirmed with Doppler ultrasound to be Penile Mondor’s disease. He was reassured and treated conservatively with analgesics and saline compresses. The symptoms resolved completely at 1 month of follow up and Doppler revealed restoration of normal venous flow pattern. Penile Mondor’s disease is a rare clinical entity and it should be recognised to alleviate the patient’s anxiety.
