Acute Mesenteroaxial Gastric Volvulus with Eventration of the Diaphragm

Abstract
We report a 6 year old female child who presented with acute mesenteroaxial volvulus of the stomach associated with eventration of the left hemidiaphragm. Clinically the child presented with epigastric distension, unproductive retching and upper abdominal pain. The patient was diagnosed by upper gastro-intestinal contrast study and was immediately operated with the successful outcome.
