Abstract
Spinal intramedullary cysticercosis due to CSF dissemination of the parasite in the spinal cord is extremely rare. We report a case of spinal cysticercosis in a patient having neurocysticercosis with review of literature. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a multilobulated intramedullary ring enhancing cystic lesion with non-enhancing eccentric scolex in thoracic cord at D9-D10 vertebral level. Further evaluation revealed multiple ring enhancing lesions with eccentric scolex in brain. At pathological examination, spinal lesion was diagnosed as a cysticercal cyst.
