Inguinoscrotal Swelling with Acute Abdomen: A Rare Presentation of Burst Amebic Liver Abscess

Abstract
Amoebic liver abscess is the most common extra-intestinal manifestation of invasive amoebiasis. Rupture into pleural cavity and abdomen is well known complication of amoebic liver abscess but amoebic liver abscess rupturing into abdominal wall and tracking upto inguinoscrotal region through abdominal wall is a very rare presentation. We report a unique and interesting case of ruptured amoebic liver abscess into layers of abdominal wall and presenting as acute abdomen with tender inguinoscrotal swelling. Definite surgical management was required in this case to which patient responded well. The case is being presented for its rare presentation and management peculiarity.
