Abstract
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is commonly performed procedure for biliary and pancreatic diseases. The most common complications due to the procedure are pancreatitis, bleeding, perforation and cholangitis. A very rare and exceptional ERCP complication is subcapsular hepatic hematoma, and few cases have been reported worldwide in the literature. We report a case of extremely rare complication of ERCP, subcapsular hepatic hematoma that emerged from 6 hours of ERCP in 55 year-old man. Computed tomography showed a 140×67 mm subcapsular hepatic haematoma on the right hepatic lobe. The patient was successfully treated with conservative treatment.
